These lovely included calcite scalenohedral crystal groups on matrix came on the market last year. The inclusions are so prominent that I would actually rather define them as hematite coated calcites, encapsulated in secondary jackets of calcite: one can see the inner crystals emerging from within the calcite layer. The tonal variations are gorgeous: from tan, to rust, to deep brown and finally black. This large cabinet size specimen has all of the elements which make this find so unique. The condition is excellent, even with the crystal tip here and there that has vanished, exposing the inner layers of included material.
