SOLD. There are precious few mineral specimens that one regards as a ' favorite'. It is almost unfair to oneself, and the customer, to assign such relevance to a single piece. But, human as we are, we simply cannot help ourselves! This fabulous specimen, for me, literally stole my heart, when I first laid eyes on it 2 years ago. Actually, the locality was incorrect when presented to me, and much to my pleasure, the famous and highly regarded Deer Hill turnd out to be the correct locality. The color is a very pleasant 'powder purple', with great translucency and luster. The elestial attributes that form this 'castle' are truly amazing, as they build in size, both width and length, in their ascent to the termination. The matrix is a white marley ( is there such a word?) quartz, which creates a wonderful contrast to the purple color. Majestic as can be, the specimen is, well, my 'crown jewel'.
