A fine example of an American classic from a bygone era. The rutile is geniculated ( elbow like) in form, and is striated and lustrous. Perched aesthetically next to a water clear quartz crystal, and adjacent to several rhombs of dolomite, the rutile is situated on a bed of muscovite plates. Lustrous quartz makes up the matrix. Dr. David, and certainly Larry Conklin, both conossieurs of fine minerals, proudly displayed this specimen in their collections for many years.
